One of the best features of the BlackBerry 10-powered Z10 is the built-in screenshot capability. While this isn’t a new feature by any means, it’s quite useful, especially when you need to share screen information quickly.
That being said, if you think taking a screenshot sounds pretty cool but don’t know how to do it, you’ve come to the right place. Here we show you how to snap screenshots in just a few easy steps on your Z10.
To start snapping screenies, just follow the easy steps below:
- Wake your BlackBerry Z10
- Press the volume down and volume up button at the same time and hold
- Your screen will flash white for a split second and the device will take a screenshot
- This screenshot will be available in your BlackBerry Z10 camera roll
All in all, the Z10 is an extremely stunning smartphone. It couples some great hardware with some pretty decent software. Despite the software and hardware, however,it’s missing several key components, especially apps. If you can look past that, though, the Z10 might really be the phone for you. In our review of the BlackBerry Z10, we said:
“The app selection in the BlackBerry World is really lacking. Sure, it will have 100,000 apps by the time the BlackBerry Z10 launches, many of these aren’t built specifically for BlackBerry 10 and it shows. Some apps have been ported from Android or use wildly different design approaches but the problem is that a lot just aren’t that good.
I also can’t find the apps that I love to use on a daily basis, including Chase, Instagram, Pandora, Spotify, Flipboard, Google services, Netflix and no Stitcher. You can find alternatives in the store but I’ve found that some of these aren’t as good as what I’m used to. One podcast-streaming app I use gave me the maddening “feature” of automatically stopping every five minutes, so I had to constantly pull it out of my pocket, unlock the device and hit the play button on the app.
To be fair, we’re starting to see some big-name apps come into the the BlackBerry World, as you can get Angry Birds Space, eBay, Skype, WhatsApp, USA Today and others. BlackBerry is doing a good job galvanizing developers and if the BlackBerry Z10 is a success, you can expect more developers to bring their apps over.
The BlackBerry World does have a solid selection of music and videos, though and there will be carrier billing for simple purchasing. Long-time BlackBerry fans will be happy to know that you can finally download and install apps on the BlackBerry Z10 without having to restart it. Yes, there are many existing BlackBerry users who have to restart their phones after installing a new app. Yeesh.
The BlackBerry 10 platform is a clean break from the past but it still faces the challenges you’d expect from a new OS: it lacks polish and app support is not close to what you can find on the competition. BlackBerry 10 does some things very well but I’m not sure if that’s enough to overcome it’s shortcomings.”
